The Curve Gallery is very pleased to present this exciting and vibrant selection of new work by Stephen Belinfante.     


The exhibition will run from 31 October – 14 December and is open to view most school days from 8.45am – 3.45pm.  There will be the opportunity to meet the artist at a Private View from 6-8pm on Thursday 1 December.

Lewis Turner, Kyle Gardner and Matt Crockford will be representing Churchdown School, alongside 22 students from other schools in Gloucestershire, working on a range of creative design briefs including photography, garden design and graphics. Professional wire artist Celia Smith (who recently exhibited her Drawing with Wire exhibition in the Curve Gallery) worked with Churchdown School students from Year 7 and Year 10 on Monday 18 July.

On 8 July the Art Department took a large group of Year 10 Fine Art students on a trip to Oxford.  They visited the Ashmolean Museum, Pitt Rivers Museum and the Botanical Gardens, and took the opportunity to walk around the city and observe the architecture.  The visit focussed on the controlled assessment component of their course and provided an excellent research opportunity.

The students were also able to take part in a Construct a Landscape workshop with Studio Seven artists Jenny Bicat and Corinne Hockley.  Taking inspiration from the sculptures in the Old Rectory Garden the students made 3D landscape models of elements in the garden, such as the water wheel, the cone in the river race and the scissor bridge.  These pieces will be on display in the  New Brewery Arts community exhibition space over the summer holidays.
