On Monday afternoon, Sue Brown worked with a group of year 12s and introduced them to the gum arabic technique of printmaking. After school, Sue led an INSET session to demonstrate the technique to teachers in the art department and allow them to develop their printmaking skills.

Taking a look at the work produced at the end of the session

Year 3 pupils made several visits to the Curve to see the Sue Brown exhibition of prints and work in the gallery.  The children were encouraged to talk about the work with Miss Rickard to develop literacy skills.  They also learned how prints are made.  All made drawings from the exhibition and used these as a basis to achieve a print.  Most pupils learned how to create a two colour print using pressprint.  The quality of the work achieved was very impressive.
